Zain Group to Pay 17-Fils Dividend After Revenue and Profit Growth in First Half of 2026

Zain Group plans to pay an interim dividend after reporting stronger revenue and profits during the first half of 2026. The Kuwaiti telecommunications company will distribute 17 fils per share. The company expects to make the payment on October 6.

Management also reaffirmed its longer-term dividend commitment. Zain Group plans to pay at least 35 fils per share annually through 2028. The dividend follows a period of solid operating growth across the company’s markets. Revenue reached KD1.1 billion during the first six months.

That figure represents a 5 percent increase from the same period last year. Revenue also increased by 5 percent during the second quarter. Meanwhile, net income climbed significantly during the first half. Profit reached KD220 million, marking a 73 percent annual increase.

However, a major one-time gain contributed significantly to the profit increase. The gain amounted to approximately $411 million. Second-quarter profit also recorded strong growth. Net income for the quarter increased by 90 percent compared with last year.

The company’s operational performance benefited from network investments and expanding 5G services. Zain launched 5G operations across four markets during the period.

The company continues investing in digital infrastructure across its regional operations. Consequently, improved network coverage could support further customer growth. Zain’s active customer base increased during the first half. The number of customers reached 51.9 million.

That represents a 2 percent increase compared with the previous year. The customer growth provides another positive indicator for the telecommunications group. Zain Group operates across several important Middle Eastern markets. Its operations include Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain, and Jordan.

The company also plans to expand its regional footprint. Management expects to launch operations in Syria during the first quarter of 2027.

The planned Syrian expansion could strengthen the company’s presence across the Levant. It could also create new opportunities for future customer and revenue growth.

The company expects continued investment to support its expansion plans. Network upgrades will remain important as demand for mobile data increases.

At the same time, 5G adoption could create additional opportunities. Faster networks can support consumers, businesses, and emerging digital services.

Zain’s latest results also highlight the importance of its regional diversification. Operating across several markets allows the company to spread its growth opportunities.

However, each market presents different competitive and economic conditions. Therefore, management must balance investment with profitability across its regional operations.

The company’s shareholder structure also includes significant institutional investors. Omantel owns a 21.9 percent stake in the telecommunications group.

The Kuwait Investment Authority holds another 16 percent. These major shareholders could benefit from the company’s continued dividend policy.

Investors have also responded positively to the company’s recent performance. Zain shares closed at KD0.611 on Monday. The stock has gained almost 18 percent since the beginning of 2026. That performance reflects growing investor interest in the company’s financial outlook.

The interim dividend adds another attraction for shareholders. Furthermore, the longer-term payout commitment provides greater visibility for income-focused investors.

Zain Group expects its network investments to support future growth. The company will likely continue focusing on 5G deployment and digital services.

Meanwhile, customer growth remains an important performance indicator. A larger customer base can support revenue expansion across different markets.

The company’s Syrian entry could provide another potential growth driver. However, the new operation will require investment before it contributes significantly to earnings.

Management therefore faces the challenge of balancing expansion with shareholder returns. The current dividend policy indicates confidence in the company’s financial position.

Zain Group’s latest results show stronger earnings momentum across the business. Revenue growth has remained steady, while customer numbers continue moving higher.

The company also continues strengthening its telecommunications infrastructure. As a result, its regional operations could benefit from rising demand for mobile connectivity.

The first-half results provide a positive foundation for the remainder of 2026. However, market conditions and investment requirements will continue influencing future performance.

Zain Group now enters the second half with stronger earnings and an expanding customer base. Its dividend plan also provides shareholders with a clearer income outlook.

The planned Syria launch could further expand its regional reach in 2027. Meanwhile, continued 5G investment should remain central to the company’s growth strategy.

Overall, the latest results point to a company pursuing expansion while maintaining shareholder distributions. That balance will remain important as Zain develops its regional telecommunications network.
