The Oman-France partnership gained fresh momentum as both countries strengthened economic cooperation during a major business forum in Paris. Leaders and executives explored new investment opportunities while expanding collaboration across key industries. Furthermore, the event highlighted the growing strategic relationship between Oman and France through multiple commercial agreements.
Sultan Haitham bin Tarik attended the forum alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, demonstrating strong support for deeper economic ties between the two countries. Their participation encouraged businesses from Oman and France to pursue new partnerships and long-term investments.
During the gathering, Omani officials reaffirmed the country’s commitment to expanding international investment relationships. They also invited French companies to explore business opportunities across the Sultanate. Consequently, both sides emphasized the importance of building sustainable commercial partnerships.
The forum focused on several strategic sectors, including energy, technology, aviation, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, manufacturing, and space technology. As a result, companies from both countries signed numerous cooperation agreements covering a wide range of industries.
Space technology became one of the major highlights of the event. Omani space company Etlaq signed an agreement with French aerospace company Latitude to support light rocket launch operations from Oman’s planned commercial spaceport.
Meanwhile, MBsat partnered with Telespazio to deliver satellite services and advanced ground station solutions. Therefore, the agreement could strengthen Oman’s growing presence in the regional space industry while expanding satellite communication capabilities.
The aviation sector also witnessed important developments. Ankaa Space and Technologies signed an agreement with Thales to provide advanced air traffic control radar systems for Oman. The project aims to improve aviation safety and operational efficiency.
In the automotive sector, Al Hashar Group partnered with Renault to distribute Renault vehicles throughout the Omani market. Additionally, Mohsin Haider Darwish Group reached an agreement with Michelin to supply tires across the Sultanate.
Energy and industrial cooperation also expanded through a partnership between the National Energy and Engineering Company and Sagemcom. Together, the companies plan to assemble smart electricity meters at Rusayl Industrial City, supporting local manufacturing and technology development.
Another agreement brought together Saint-Gobain and Al Fajar Al Alamia Company to explore investment opportunities in Oman’s gypsum sector. The partnership could strengthen industrial production while creating additional business opportunities.
The luxury goods industry also featured prominently during the forum. Omani perfume house Amouage signed an agreement with L’Oréal focusing on fragrance manufacturing, knowledge exchange, and workforce development. Consequently, the collaboration supports innovation within the luxury sector.
Technology remained one of the central themes throughout the event. Several agreements covered artificial intelligence, digital education, cybersecurity, and advanced digital solutions. Therefore, both countries aim to encourage innovation while accelerating technological development.
Renewable energy projects also received significant attention. Among the announced initiatives was a 120-megawatt wind power project, developed through cooperation between Omani and French companies to support clean energy goals.
Space cooperation expanded further as Space Communication Technologies Oman signed another agreement with Airbus Defence and Space. The partnership builds upon previous cooperation and strengthens Oman’s ambitions within the international space industry.
Government officials explained that these agreements support Oman Vision 2040 by encouraging foreign investment, technology transfer, industrial development, and economic diversification. Furthermore, they believe stronger international partnerships will accelerate sustainable economic growth.
Business leaders described the Paris forum as an important milestone in strengthening commercial ties. They noted that the agreements create stronger connections between private-sector companies while opening opportunities in emerging industries.
The event also brought together senior government officials, investors, and business executives from both countries. Participants discussed practical ways to expand cooperation across multiple sectors while identifying new investment opportunities for future collaboration.
