National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) reported a net profit of KD481.7 million ($1.6 billion) for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, up 3.1% from KD467.4 million ($1.5 billion) a year earlier, the bank said in a statement on Monday.

Third-quarter net profit was KD156.9 million, compared with KD152.1 million in the same quarter of 2025, according to the bank’s interim financial statements.

Total assets rose 4.5% year on year to KD46.9 billion ($152.4 billion) at the end of September. Loans and advances grew 8.2% to KD28.2 billion ($91.6 billion).

Customer deposits increased 13.5% to KD27.9 billion ($90.6 billion). Shareholders’ equity rose 5.1% to KD4.6 billion ($15.1 billion).

Net operating income grew 3.8% to KD1.0 billion ($3.3 billion), Group Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Isam J. Al-Sager said, citing momentum in core banking and contributions from the group’s businesses.

Al-Sager said the value of projects awarded in Kuwait reached approximately KD3 billion in the first nine months of 2026, as economic activity improved on a gradual recovery in oil production.

He said the new Real Estate Financing Decree-Law would support growth in banking and in housing and real estate development once it enters into force.

Boubyan Bank, the group’s Islamic banking arm, continued to contribute to revenue and profit growth, he said. Boubyan reported a nine-month profit of KD80.7 million earlier on Monday.

NBK also recently opened a branch at the Qatar Financial Centre, Al-Sager said.

Group Chairman Hamad Al-Bahar said the results reflected “the strength of our business model and our ability to deliver robust and sustainable performance across different economic conditions,” according to the statement published by Kuwait Times.
