Total operating income for the third quarter increased 12.5% to SR11.12 billion. The bank attributed the gain to higher net financing and investment income, which rose 18.1%, and to higher fees from banking services.

Impairment charges for financing rose 49.5% to SR852 million from SR570 million. The bank said gross charges increased 10.4%, while recoveries from written-off financing fell 13.4%.

Total operating expenses, including impairment charges, rose 15.2% in the quarter on higher general and administrative costs and staff salaries, the filing said.

Total assets stood at SR1.08 trillion at the end of September, up 1.8% from a year earlier. The financing and investment portfolio grew 2.5% to SR774.9 billion, and customer deposits rose 0.9% to SR700.3 billion.
