Emirates Petroleum Company, the UAE integrated energy company known as Emarat, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Abu Dhabi-based technology group G42 to explore the use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and advanced digital technologies in its business, the companies said on Monday.
The agreement covers possible collaboration on AI applications for the energy sector, digital security and sovereignty, and next-generation service station concepts, according to a statement issued in Dubai.
The companies did not disclose financial terms or name specific projects.

Ahmad Abdulla Ahli, Emarat’s chief people and corporate support officer, signed for the fuel company. Ali Al Amine, chief commercial officer of G42 International, signed for G42.
“This MoU reflects how Emarat is approaching the next phase of its transformation, by aligning technology adoption with long-term business value, operational readiness and the changing expectations of the energy and mobility sector,” Ahli said.
Al Amine said G42 aimed to identify areas where AI and digital tools could support the energy company’s transformation, combining its cloud and AI capabilities with Emarat’s sector knowledge and operational footprint.
The companies said the collaboration is intended to support innovation across the energy value chain through digital capabilities, secure infrastructure and improved customer services.
G42 has signed a string of exploratory agreements in recent weeks. Last week it agreed with Greece’s Copelouzos Group to explore an AI factory in Greece.
