Qatar Airways Signs Codeshare With WestJet, Adding Connections to Canadian Cities Through Toronto and Montreal

Qatar Airways has signed a reciprocal codeshare partnership with Canadian airline WestJet, the two carriers said on Monday.

Qatar Airways will place its QR code on WestJet flights from Toronto and Montreal. Its passengers will be able to connect onward to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John’s and Winnipeg, the Qatar News Agency reported.

WestJet said the agreement gives Qatar Airways passengers access to 11 Canadian destinations from the two cities.

WestJet will initially put its code on Qatar Airways’ nonstop flights between Doha and Toronto and between Doha and Montreal. In a later phase, it will add its code to selected Qatar Airways routes beyond Doha, WestJet said.

The deal gives WestJet passengers codeshare access to Doha for the first time. Travelers on codeshare tickets will get through-checked baggage and can earn WestJet Rewards on the full itinerary.

Qatar Airways raised its own Canada service from 12 to 14 weekly flights from October 25, 2026, with daily flights to both Toronto and Montreal.

The Doha-based carrier flies to more than 170 destinations. WestJet, based in Calgary, operates more than 600 daily flights, including those of its partners, and serves more than 275 destinations.

“Building on a trusted relationship that has spanned more than a decade, we’re pleased to offer guests greater choice, convenience and access through a single booking and check-in experience,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
