Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce has recalled 2,888 Lucid Air electric vehicles over a defect that could increase the risk of fire or an accident.
The recall covers Lucid Air cars from model years 2023 to 2026, the ministry said on Monday.

The defect is in the electrical circuit of the exterior lighting system. It could cause the system to overheat and lead to the failure of the brake lights or headlights, according to the ministry.
The remedy is a free over-the-air software update. The ministry advised owners to park affected vehicles away from buildings until the update is installed, the Saudi Gazette reported.
Owners can check whether their vehicle identification number is included through the Recalls.sa platform, the ministry said.
Lucid Group’s largest shareholder is Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The U.S. electric carmaker assembles vehicles at a plant in King Abdullah Economic City.
In June, the ministry recalled 1,169 Lucid Air Pure vehicles over a driveshaft defect, the Saudi Press Agency reported at the time.
