Lesha Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding with Barwa Real Estate Group under which the Doha-based lender will advise the developer on its international real estate portfolio, the bank said in a statement published by Zawya on Thursday.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of Cityscape Qatar 2026. It sets a framework for Lesha Bank to provide advisory support on Barwa’s existing overseas assets and on potential investment opportunities within a Shariah-compliant framework.

The scope includes strategic guidance on Barwa’s international real estate holdings and market insights on the countries where it owns assets or is seeking to invest. It also covers recommendations on new real estate opportunities, including identifying and assessing investments.
The statement did not give a value for the arrangement or a timeline.
Overseas expansion a priority
Ahmed Mohammad Al Tayeb, group chief executive officer of Barwa Real Estate, said expanding and strengthening the company’s international footprint “is a key strategic priority.”
Mohammed Ismail Al Emadi, group chief executive officer of Lesha Bank, said the bank would draw on its experience in Shariah-compliant real estate investment to help Barwa optimize the management and performance of its portfolio.
Lesha Bank is authorized by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority and is listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange under the ticker QFBQ. Barwa Real Estate is also listed in Doha.
Lesha Bank reported a 50.2% rise in nine-month net profit to QR210.4 million earlier this month. Barwa Real Estate reported nine-month profit of QR588 million.
