Economy and Planning Minister Faisal Al-Ibrahim said Saudi Arabia’s data innovation supports better decision-making and global competitiveness. He explained that the country is building a modern, open, and world-class data ecosystem.
Moreover, Al-Ibrahim highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s data innovation improves statistical operations, boosts data accuracy, and makes information more accessible. He added that this approach strengthens national development and enhances international cooperation.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of transparent data systems that support evidence-based decision-making, especially during global challenges. He noted that Saudi Arabia is moving fast to build resilient, high-quality statistical systems.
The Saudi Statistics Forum served as a platform for experts to share ideas, transfer knowledge, and discuss innovation in data management. Many national and international organizations participated in exploring the future of statistical development.
In addition, Minister Al-Ibrahim stressed the critical role of accurate and timely data for policy-making. He said resilient data systems allow faster responses to emerging global and national needs.
Meanwhile, GASTAT President Fahad Al-Dossari confirmed that the authority remains committed to growing Saudi Arabia data innovation. He said statistics now play a major role in development, economic growth, and public service improvements.
Al-Dossari revealed that GASTAT recently launched 39 new statistical products to meet the growing demand for data. These products offer greater sector coverage and support smarter public and private sector decisions.
He also noted the importance of partnerships between government, private companies, and universities to support Saudi Arabia’s evolving data strategy. According to him, teamwork ensures that new data initiatives succeed.
During the event, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef also spoke about the importance of data in industrial development. He said that without reliable infrastructure, industries and investments cannot grow properly.
Alkhorayef explained that Saudi Vision 2030 needs detailed, updated data to support new sectors and attract more investors. Therefore, Saudi Arabia data innovation focuses on turning available information into smarter insights.
Moreover, Alkhorayef warned against using modern technologies without ensuring data quality, as this could lead to wrong decisions. He emphasized the need for accurate sources before applying AI and big data tools.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority also plays a vital role in balancing regulation with rapid technology adoption. Their work helps make data more accessible while protecting data quality and user trust.
Finally, GASTAT signed cooperation agreements with four countries, including the UAE, Qatar, Estonia, and Finland. These agreements aim to boost collaboration and share best practices in statistics and data development.
