National Mobile Telecommunications Company, which trades as Ooredoo Kuwait, said net profit attributable to shareholders fell 29% to KWD48 million in the nine months to September 30, 2026, from KWD68 million a year earlier.
The Boursa Kuwait-listed operator said on Saturday that the drop was mainly due to a one-off provision of KWD23.5 million. The charge followed a final hearing before the Supreme Court of Algeria in June 2026 on a claim filed by the Central Bank of Algeria against its subsidiary Wataniya Telecom Algerie.

Consolidated revenue rose 6% to KWD608 million, from KWD573 million a year earlier.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 10% to KWD255 million, from KWD232 million. The EBITDA margin widened to 42% from 41%.
Excluding the Algeria provision and a one-off bad debt provision booked in the comparative period, net profit attributable to the company was KWD72 million, the company said. Adjusted EBITDA growth was 8%.
Earnings per share were 97 fils for the nine months, compared with 136 fils a year earlier.
In the third quarter alone, revenue rose 2% to KWD211 million from KWD206 million. EBITDA climbed 8% to KWD90 million, while net profit attributable to the company fell 10% to KWD24 million from KWD26 million.
The group’s customer base grew 7% to 29.1 million at the end of September, from 27.3 million a year earlier.
Chairman Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani said growth was driven by Algeria, Tunisia and Palestine. In Kuwait, he said, handset supply-chain constraints continued to weigh on commercial performance and revenue growth, though a more favorable revenue mix supported profitability.
Ooredoo Kuwait is a subsidiary of Qatar’s Ooredoo Group. The results were reported by Al Jarida and released by the company on Saturday.
