The Mazad auction has launched a new opportunity for investors and contractors. This digital auction includes the sale and dismantlement of the Riffa Power Station Phase 1, also known as Riffa 1. Along with the power station, bidders can also purchase spare parts.

Mazad, a local portfolio company of Mumtalakat, will manage the auction through its online platform. The starting bid for the power station is BHD 200,000. In contrast, spare parts start at BHD 50,000. This event presents a rare chance to acquire high-value energy assets.

The Mazad auction closes on a Thursday at noon. Until then, interested parties can bid on a wide range of items. These include diesel fuel, turbine components, compressor systems, generator filters, gearbox units, motors, and oil pumps. Also included are valves, combustion chambers, burner equipment, and more.

Importantly, Mazad auction the winning bidder must dismantle and remove the power station. They must also obtain permits from environmental and municipal authorities. Additionally, the contractor must follow all safety and environmental rules during the process.

The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) sees this sale as a major step forward. The move supports both operational efficiency and environmental goals. Furthermore, the plan aligns with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and its green energy transition strategy.

EWA emphasized that the Mazad auction also promotes transparency and asset optimization. By repurposing existing infrastructure, the country reduces waste and protects the environment. Moreover, this initiative shows the strong commitment to long-term sustainability.

Talal Al Araifi, from Mazad auction, welcomed bidders from Bahrain and abroad. He stressed that the auction uses Mazad’s digital platform to ensure fairness and competition. According to him, this online approach will attract global interest and support Bahrain’s development goals.

For participation, investors can review detailed project documents on the official Mazad app or website. For support or viewing requests, they may call or email Mazad directly. The auction platform provides all the tools and details needed to participate in the bidding process.

Finally, all potential bidders must follow the outlined requirements. In addition, they must submit the required documents before bidding. This process guarantees a smooth and legal transfer of responsibilities and ownership.
