Dubai Road Upgrade to Boost Traffic Flow and Connectivity

Dubai road upgrade plans for Al Mustaqbal Street will transform traffic flow and connectivity across major city districts. The Roads and Transport Authority approved an AED633 million contract to execute the project as part of Dubai’s larger urban development strategy.

The upgrade stretches from Za’abeel Palace Street to Financial Centre Street and includes enhancements to the Trade Centre Roundabout. These improvements will directly support Dubai’s goal of creating faster and more efficient transport systems for residents and visitors.

The Dubai road upgrade involves constructing bridges and tunnels spanning 1,700 meters. Al Mustaqbal Street will expand from three lanes to four lanes in each direction. This expansion increases traffic capacity by 33 percent, accommodating up to 8,800 vehicles per hour.

Travel times will also improve dramatically. The new design reduces the journey from 13 minutes to only 6 minutes. Commuters moving between key areas will experience smoother traffic flow and greater convenience.

Furthermore, this major upgrade benefits several prominent zones, including Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai International Financial Centre, Za’abeel, Downtown Dubai, and Business Bay. Nearly half a million residents and visitors will enjoy faster, safer, and more reliable transportation across these vibrant areas.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, highlighted the importance of this initiative. He stated that the Dubai road upgrade aligns with the city’s vision for sustainable growth and improved urban mobility.

However, the project also strengthens Dubai’s position as a global business and tourism hub. By modernizing critical transport infrastructure, Dubai demonstrates its commitment to meeting rising traffic demands and supporting economic activities in vital districts.

As work progresses, the upgraded corridor will reduce congestion and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. Businesses operating in these areas will also benefit from improved accessibility and smoother logistics.

Nevertheless, the Dubai road upgrade reflects a proactive strategy to ensure the city’s transport network meets future needs. This long-term investment highlights Dubai’s dedication to innovation and excellence in infrastructure planning.
