Duqm Emerges as Oman’s Billion-Rial Tourism Magnet for Global Investors

Oman continues to attract investors as tourism investments in Duqm cross 853 million rials. The area is now preparing for a major hospitality expansion. Plans include 21 hotels, 10 hotel apartment projects, and a large mixed-use tourism development.

The Oman tourism investments reflect strong interest from both domestic and international players. Investors have recognized Duqm’s prime location along the Arabian Sea. The region offers a moderate climate, scenic beaches, and growing infrastructure, all of which increase its tourism potential.

So far, developers have completed 16 tourism projects in Duqm. Another 11 are currently under construction. In addition, five projects are preparing to break ground soon. These developments confirm rising confidence in the local tourism economy.

Oman tourism investments also benefit from government incentives. Investors gain access to tax breaks, streamlined approvals, and infrastructure support. These advantages create a stable and welcoming business environment for tourism developers.

Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Akaak, CEO of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm, outlined Duqm’s strategic appeal. He emphasized the area’s strong tourism potential and future growth vision. His team aims to develop Duqm into a hub for lifestyle, investment, and leisure.

Duqm offers a variety of attractions. Visitors can enjoy Duqm Beach Park, the Rock Garden, and Sai Commercial District Park. Nature lovers explore Barr Al Hikman and Al Maha Nature Reserve. These locations enhance the region’s position as a tourism destination.

Planners continue to focus on long-term development goals. Their 2025–2030 strategy targets balanced urban growth and vibrant community living. This strategy also aims to attract more tourists and long-term investors.

Oman tourism investments also benefit from promotional events. One example is the “Pass by” campaign. Furthermore, the event features entertainment and stops for travelers heading to or from Dhofar. Past editions of the campaign increased both tourism activity and investment engagement.

Tourism leaders believe that strategic planning and marketing will drive more growth. They see Duqm as a future hotspot for tourism and hospitality. The government’s support further accelerates the area’s investment momentum.

With more hotel and lifestyle developments on the way, Duqm is ready to welcome global visitors. Investors will continue to view the city as a promising place to build long-term value.
