Burj Al Sahwa Project Oman took another step in upgrading its infrastructure with the latest development of the Burj Al Sahwa Roundabout. The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology announced that financial bids for the project have been opened. Earlier, the ministry reviewed technical proposals before proceeding to this stage. The move reflects Oman’s commitment to tackling traffic congestion in Muscat.
The Oman Burj Al Sahwa real estate initiative attracted significant interest from both international and local companies. Eleven firms participated in the tender process by purchasing project documents. Out of these, three leading Omani companies presented detailed financial offers for the prized contract. Their participation demonstrates confidence in the country’s infrastructure vision.
The ministry requested four potential options from the selected contractor. The first option covers only the main baseline with a bridge. The second combines bridges with an underpass to increase traffic flow. The third option follows a proposal from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. Finally, the fourth allows the contractor to suggest an independent solution.
Moreover, authorities stated that contractors may propose alternative designs beyond the initial scope. This flexibility allows innovative engineering approaches to emerge. The project may also extend along the Muscat Expressway. Such adjustments highlight the government’s adaptive approach to infrastructure planning.
Officials stressed that Muscat requires immediate solutions to ease congestion. The project includes not only roundabout remodeling but also lane expansions, bridges, and tunnels. These measures will improve mobility across key intersections in the capital. They also ensure safer and faster travel for residents and visitors.
The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology reaffirmed that several road projects will launch soon. Planned upgrades include expansions of Muscat Expressway and November 18 Road. At the same time, the government will advance the Burj Al Sahwa remodeling. Each effort fits into a broader plan for long-term urban mobility improvements.
In addition, a specialized government team continues to coordinate with the Muscat Governor’s Office. Their mission focuses on developing comprehensive strategies to reduce congestion.
