Air India and Air India Express Extend Saudi Flight Suspension to October 24

Air India and its low-cost unit Air India Express have suspended flights to and from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam until October 24, extending cancellations as Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia continue.

“In view of the prevailing situation, Air India and Air India Express have temporarily suspended flights to and from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam until 24 October 2026,” Air India said in a post on X on Saturday, October 17, The Hindu reported, citing the Press Trust of India.

On Friday, Air India had canceled its Saudi flights until October 20. Air India Express had suspended operations to the kingdom until October 17.

Passengers with confirmed tickets issued on or before October 15 for travel between October 9 and October 25 can make one free date change for travel up to November 10, Gulf News reported. Passengers whose flights were canceled can also take a full refund.

Air India passengers can instead rebook to or from Dubai or Doha, subject to availability. Air India Express passengers can switch to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, Ras Al Khaimah, Salalah or Sharjah.

Passengers who choose another airport must arrange their own transport and meet visa and entry requirements, the airlines said.

IndiGo said on Thursday, October 15, that it had extended its cancellation of flights to Saudi cities until October 24. Its suspension covers Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah.

Akasa Air said the same day that it had extended the suspension of all flights to and from Riyadh until October 24 and Jeddah until October 21.

Britain and Australia have tightened their travel advice for Saudi Arabia, and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remains closed after repeated Houthi attacks.
