Emirates NBD, Dubai’s largest bank, reported profit of AED19.3 billion for the first nine months of 2026, up 2% from AED19.0 billion a year earlier, the lender said on Wednesday.
Third-quarter profit was AED6.4 billion, unchanged from the second quarter.
Total income for the nine months rose 15% to a record AED42.2 billion. Net interest income climbed 14% to AED29.4 billion, and non-funded income rose 18% to AED12.8 billion.

Profit before tax increased 4% to AED24.3 billion. The bank said that was despite higher impairment and hyperinflation charges.
Impairment allowances totaled AED2.1 billion, compared with a net write-back of AED0.3 billion a year earlier. Emirates NBD said the charge was driven mainly by provisioning at its Turkish unit DenizBank, partly offset by recoveries in the UAE.
Operating expenses rose 19% to AED13.3 billion, lifting the cost-to-income ratio to 31.4% from 30.5%. The net interest margin narrowed to 3.24% from 3.43%. Tax rose 13% to AED5.0 billion.
Gross loans grew 27% since the end of 2025 to AED833 billion, helped by the addition of India’s RBL Bank. Excluding RBL Bank, loan growth was 18%. Deposits rose 19% to AED935 billion.
Total assets reached AED1.38 trillion, up 18% from the end of last year. The impaired loan ratio improved to 2.0% from 2.4% at the end of 2025, and the common equity tier 1 ratio stood at 13.4%.
“Our agreement to acquire HSBC Egypt’s retail banking business is an exciting step forward in our regional growth strategy,” Group Chief Executive Officer Shayne Nelson said, adding that it followed the RBL Bank acquisition in June.
Group Chief Financial Officer Patrick Sullivan said quarterly profit before tax reached AED8.0 billion, in line with the second quarter.
The bank said the UAE economy continues to expand on firm domestic demand, population growth and strong credit expansion despite regional tensions, while activity in tourism, trade and logistics remains moderated.
