FedEx has started carrying dangerous goods by road across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman through its Middle East Road Network, the company said on Monday, Gulf Business reported.
The service is available through FedEx Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight, subject to commodity, origin, destination and regulatory requirements.

Eligible shipments include healthcare materials, laboratory reagents, diagnostic samples, dry ice, chemicals and lithium batteries.
FedEx is aiming the service at healthcare and life sciences, energy and petrochemicals, high-tech, and beauty and personal care companies.
The road network connects to the FedEx hub for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa at Dubai World Central airport. From there, the company runs a dedicated fleet of TIR-registered trucks along GCC corridors, with GPS tracking and customs-cleared movements.
Road transport follows applicable ADR requirements, the European rules for carrying dangerous goods by road. The service covers both lightweight parcels and heavyweight palletized freight.
“As industrial activity and intra-regional trade across the GCC continue to grow, businesses are navigating increasingly complex supply chains,” said Taarek Hinedi, Vice President of Operations and Planning and Engineering at FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
Qatar is not among the markets covered by the new service.
