More than 400 Chinese companies operate in Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, told a business summit in Shenzhen on Monday.

The Ras Al Khaimah-China Business Summit brought together almost 300 government representatives, investors and business leaders under the theme “Together Towards Shared Value,” according to a statement from the organizers carried by Zawya.

Sheikh Saud outlined investment opportunities in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, renewable energy and logistics.

He described Ras Al Khaimah as the UAE’s northern gateway, linking Chinese businesses with markets in the Middle East, Africa and Europe and complementing China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

“We are building an economy that is resilient, diversified and integrated into global supply chains,” Sheikh Saud said.

Attendees included Hussain Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China; Mohammad Abdulrahman Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment; Mariam Alshamsi, UAE Consul General in Guangzhou; and Yousif Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Water and Electricity.

The program included a presentation by the UAE Ministry of Investment and panel discussions on investment, finance and trade.

On Sunday, Sheikh Saud met Li Yun, Deputy Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shenzhen, to discuss cooperation in trade, investment and economic development, the statement said.

The Ras Al Khaimah government signed an agreement with UBTECH Robotics earlier on Monday to test and deploy humanoid robots in the emirate.
