Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are strengthening transport cooperation. The Railway Project gained new approval for future development. Moreover, the decision supports regional connectivity and infrastructure expansion.
Recently, the Municipal Council approved a request from the Ministry of Public Works. The request focused on securing the route for the Kuwait-Saudi Arabia railway connection. Therefore, the project can continue toward the next stages.
The planned railway line will cover around 85 kilometers. Furthermore, it will connect the southwestern border area with Al-Shadadiya. As a result, the route could improve transportation between both countries.
During the council meeting, Abdullah Al-Muhairi led discussions about several proposals. Meanwhile, officials reviewed projects involving transport, energy, defense, and urban planning.
The Railway Project highlights Kuwait’s efforts to improve regional links. Additionally, the connection could support trade and economic cooperation. In the future, it may provide easier movement for people and goods.
The council also examined requests from other government authorities. First, officials discussed changes related to previous driving school locations. Then, they approved updates connected to those areas.
At the same time, electricity infrastructure plans received attention. The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy presented two proposals. Both requests focused on creating important power routes.
The first proposal involved overhead electricity lines. Specifically, the lines would connect the Z3 station in Sabah Al-Ahmad. They would then extend toward the Mohammed Al-Ahmad Naval Base in Al-Zour.
The second proposal focused on cable routes. These cables would begin at the Al-Wafra electricity station. Afterwards, they would move north toward Abu Kharjin and Al-Sabahiya.
Additionally, the council approved several requests from the Ministry of Defense. These approvals supported wider national development goals. Consequently, different sectors can continue improving their services.
Moreover, officials approved an urban development proposal. The Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee requested a memorial project. The memorial will stand near Fahaheel Road and the First Ring Road.
The location will include areas around Dasma and Bneid Al-Gar neighborhoods. Similarly, another approval involved a social services request. The Ministry of Social Affairs received permission to relocate a restaurant in Khaldiya.
The new restaurant location will sit near the police station. Furthermore, the council allocated part of a Shaab park area. The space will support a secondary transformer station.
The Railway Project continues to represent major infrastructure progress. Therefore, the development may create long-term benefits. It could also strengthen connections between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Overall, the council’s decisions show continued national development efforts. Meanwhile, transportation, energy, and urban projects remain important priorities. As a result, Kuwait continues building stronger infrastructure for future growth.
