Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s Supreme Purchasing Committee approved three emergency contracts worth about 5.38 million Kuwaiti dinars for Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), the state oil group’s shipping arm.
The contracts cover repairs to two tankers and towing, rescue and security operations for a third, according to a decision published in the official gazette, Kuwait Alyoum, Al Jarida reported.

The committee approved the awards on an emergency basis under disaster procedures.
Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY), based in Bahrain, will carry out emergency repairs on the tanker Al-Yarmouk for KWD1.083 million.
That work will be done while the vessel is in dry dock.
ASRY was also awarded a direct contract worth KWD2.146 million ($6.986 million) to repair the tanker Al-Fintas within 70 days of the purchase order.
The committee gave a third direct contract, worth KWD2.15 million ($7 million), to Ambrey Services FZCO.
Ambrey will provide towing, rescue, safety and security services related to an incident involving the tanker Kazma 3, for six months from the purchase order.
