Abu Dhabi health group M42 and German medical technology company Siemens Healthineers have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on disease prevention, screening and earlier detection across the Global South, with a particular focus on Africa, M42 said on Thursday.
The agreement was signed at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026 by Kareem Shahin, chief executive of M42’s Digital Health Solutions Platform and the group’s chief digital officer, and Kevin Massoudi, vice president and head of public sector for the Middle East and Africa at Siemens Healthineers.

The two companies will explore joint offerings that combine M42’s digital health, data and artificial intelligence capabilities with Siemens Healthineers’ medical imaging, diagnostics, cancer care and minimally invasive therapies. M42 did not disclose financial terms.
M42’s contribution will draw on Abu Dhabi Health Data Services, which runs Malaffi, the emirate’s health information exchange, as well as Sahatna, its unified patient portal, and its e-prescriptions platform.
“Our partnership with Siemens Healthineers reflects this ambition, bringing together two organizations with complementary strengths and a shared commitment to advancing more proactive, accessible and sustainable models of care,” said Dimitris Moulavasilis, group chief executive of M42.
M42 said the agreement supports its international expansion, and that Africa and the wider Global South are priorities for that growth.
At the same summit on Thursday, M42 also launched Ossi, an artificial intelligence clinical platform developed with Microsoft that is being rolled out at seven M42 facilities in the UAE and Bahrain.
