Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipalities and Housing said on Sunday that 7 million square meters of white land in the Tabuk, Hail and Jazan regions have entered development or trading.
White land is undeveloped land inside urban boundaries that is subject to annual fees under the kingdom’s white land and vacant property fees system.
The total included 5.3 million square meters that entered trading, 466,000 square meters that has been developed and 1.3 million square meters still under development, the ministry said, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Revenue from the fees has supported 21 housing projects across the three regions, the ministry said.
The money is used to fund residential developments and to prepare the infrastructure linked to them.
The ministry said it would keep pushing landowners to develop their plots, bring unused land into urban development and increase the supply of housing.
Figures released earlier put the land that has entered development or trading at about 286 million square meters in six other regions, Alyaum reported.
The Eastern Province accounted for 146 million square meters of that total, Riyadh for 71 million and Makkah for 28 million.
Madinah accounted for 19 million square meters, Qassim for 15 million and Aseer for 7 million.
Fee revenue in those six regions has supported 88 housing and infrastructure projects, according to Argaam data.
