Panama secured the top global position, followed by Colombia and Mexico in second and third. Thailand and Vietnam claimed fourth and fifth place, demonstrating Asia’s strong presence in the leading spots. Other nations in the top 10 included China, Indonesia, Spain, and Malaysia.
In contrast, countries such as Kuwait, Turkey, South Korea, Finland, Germany, the UK, and Canada placed near the bottom of the list. This comparison highlights the attractiveness of the UAE expat ranking among international destinations.
The survey evaluated five categories: quality of life, ease of settling in, working abroad, personal finance, and expat essentials. The UAE performed strongly across these areas. Respondents praised the nation’s housing options, administrative processes, and the ease of living without needing local language skills. The UAE expat ranking reached second place worldwide for quality of life and first in personal safety. Infrastructure, healthcare, and leisure offerings also scored highly.
The UAE also placed fifth in the working abroad index, reflecting career opportunities, competitive salaries, and job security. Many expatriates pointed to the country’s resilient economy and robust job market. Nearly 78 percent of expats reported better career prospects after moving to the UAE, compared with the global average of 55 percent.
Government reforms continue to strengthen the UAE expat ranking. Key initiatives such as the golden visa, green visa, retirement visa, and digital nomad visa provide flexible residency choices. These measures attract professionals, investors, and entrepreneurs seeking long-term opportunities.
Expatriates also highlighted the UAE’s leadership in digital government services. Easy online access to official processes reduces challenges for newcomers, helping them integrate quickly. As a result, three-quarters of expatriates said they feel welcomed and connected within local communities.
