United Arab Bank Nine-Month Profit Rises 6% to AED333 Million as Bad-Loan Ratio Falls to 0.5%

United Arab Bank said net profit rose 6% to AED333 million in the nine months to September 30, 2026, from a year earlier, helped by higher operating income and the release of credit provisions after it settled non-performing loans.

Third-quarter net profit rose 23% from a year earlier to AED132 million, and was 5% higher than in the second quarter, the bank said in a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange on Monday, as reported by CNN Business Arabic. The state-run WAM news agency also carried the results.

Operating income for the nine months increased 12% to AED648 million from about AED580 million. Net interest income rose 15%, and operating profit grew 10%.

Its non-performing loan ratio fell to 0.5% at the end of September from 2.7% at the end of June. Provision coverage rose to 338% from 101% over the same period.

Total assets grew 16% from a year earlier to AED28 billion. Loans, advances and Islamic financing increased 12% to AED16 billion, and investments rose 23% to AED9 billion.

Customer deposits climbed 27% to AED18 billion. Current and savings account balances jumped 61% and made up about 44% of total deposits.

The total capital adequacy ratio was 20.7% and the common equity Tier 1 ratio was 16.8%. The advances to stable resources ratio stood at 72% and the eligible liquid assets ratio at 15%.

Shirish Bhide, chief executive of United Arab Bank, said the bank will focus in the fourth quarter on speeding up its digital transformation, improving operating efficiency and strengthening governance and risk management.

The bank is rated BBB+ by Fitch Ratings and Baa2 by Moody’s, both with a stable outlook.
