Premium Economy Expands Globally

Emirates is expanding its Premium Economy offering across key global routes, and the airline plans to roll out upgraded cabins throughout the year. Premium Economy now plays a central role in the carrier’s broader strategy to improve comfort and consistency for passengers. The airline also announced several aircraft redeployments and retrofits that will reshape its long-haul network.

The first aircraft to receive the new cabin layout will operate between Dubai and Amman. Starting April 14, the flight will use a newly upgraded A380, and it will remain on that route through May 31. Then, the same aircraft will shift to Prague from June 1. Emirates plans to complete retrofits on all 15 of its two-class A380s by November, turning them into three-class layouts.

From March onward, the airline will introduce more upgraded aircraft across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. In New York, Emirates will operate a four-class A380 on key days beginning April 1. The airline will expand this to daily service starting June 1, offering more seat options and greater capacity.

In Zurich, the carrier will bring a four-class A380 with Premium Economy on March 1. This change will increase weekly Premium Economy capacity to and from the Swiss city. Milan will gain the new cabin on May 10, when a retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR begins operating the route. Dublin will follow later in the year, with a three-class 777-200LR arriving on October 25. That upgrade will ensure all weekly flights to Dublin include Premium Economy.

In Asia, Ho Chi Minh City will receive a three-class 777-200LR from May 1, adding more than 600 weekly Premium Economy seats. Hong Kong will see a major change as well. The route will switch from a 777-300ER to an A380 on October 1, and a retrofitted A380 will arrive on December 1.

Elsewhere, Emirates will introduce new aircraft to Entebbe, Basra, and Mauritius later in the year. The airline will also add a three-class A380 on Dubai–Guangzhou services starting October 1. Emirates says passengers can book tickets through its app, agents, or retail stores, and that deployment dates may shift if refurbishment finishes earlier.
