Qatar-Uzbekistan Trade Relations Gain Momentum Through New Business Cooperation

Qatar and Uzbekistan are strengthening economic cooperation as business leaders from both countries explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and private-sector partnerships. The discussions took place during a meeting between representatives of Qatar Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation across several sectors. Participants reviewed investment opportunities, business incentives, and strategies to increase commercial activity between the two countries. As a result, both sides expressed strong interest in developing deeper economic ties.

Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly, a board member of Qatar Chamber, highlighted the importance of the private sector in advancing bilateral trade. He explained that businesses can play a leading role in creating joint ventures and investment projects that benefit both economies.

Moreover, he emphasized the need for direct meetings between business leaders. Such engagements can help companies identify new partnership opportunities and strengthen commercial cooperation. Therefore, both countries aim to encourage more business exchanges in the future.

Al Obaidly noted that Qatar has become an important hub for advanced technologies. He pointed to sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and digital innovation as areas where Qatar can contribute expertise and investment.

Meanwhile, Jamil Maksudi encouraged Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Uzbekistan. He stated that the country offers attractive investment conditions across multiple industries.

Furthermore, Maksudi highlighted the New Tashkent development project. The initiative aims to attract global companies specializing in smart city technologies and urban development. Consequently, he believes Qatari companies can play an important role in supporting the project.

Qatar-Uzbekistan trade relations could also benefit from cooperation in innovation, tourism, and logistics. According to Uzbek officials, these sectors represent major areas for future growth and partnership.

Additionally, Uzbekistan presented an overview of its economy and investment environment during the meeting. Officials outlined opportunities in textiles, leather manufacturing, construction materials, chemical production, and pharmaceutical industries.
