The UAE intends to invest an additional €15 billion in Greece under a joint investment initiative between the two countries, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said on Thursday.
The announcement came during an official visit to Athens by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, who held talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The initiative was launched in May 2022 with a value of €4 billion. It has led to completed transactions in sectors including energy and healthcare, the media office said.
Emirati deals in Greece under the initiative have included acquisitions involving TERNA Energy and Hellenic Healthcare Group, Greek news website Proto Thema reported.
The media office said the talks covered cooperation in the economy, investment, energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, advanced technology, innovation and healthcare.
Proto Thema reported that a three-year renewal of a cooperation agreement between Mubadala Investment Company and the Hellenic Development Bank of Investments, along with about 15 memorandums of understanding, was scheduled to be signed at a Greek-Emirati business forum in Athens.
The website also reported plans for a Greek-Emirati joint venture to pursue construction projects worth up to $10 billion in the Middle East and North Africa.
Sheikh Khaled’s delegation included Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and managing director and group chief executive of ADNOC, and Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment, The National reported.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, were also part of the delegation, the newspaper said.
The visit comes as the two countries mark 50 years of diplomatic relations.
