Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) and National Taxi have renewed their agreement with e-hailing platform Hala for five years, making more than 7,700 of their taxis available for booking on the Careem app, excluding the airport fleet.
Hala is a joint venture between Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem. The renewal was announced on Wednesday by the Dubai Media Office.

Nearly 120 million trips across DTC and National Taxi have been booked through Hala since the partnership began in 2019.
The platform now has more than 26,000 drivers and 13,000 taxis.
The companies said the agreement supports the RTA’s target of moving 80% of taxi trips to e-booking by 2030.
For DTC, which is listed on the Dubai Financial Market, the partnership has widened access to its fleet beyond street hailing and improved vehicle utilization, the statement said.
“Extending this agreement for another five years allows us to build on what we have achieved together, strengthen the integration between our services, and continue enhancing service quality and customer experience,” said Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, group chief executive of DTC.
Khaled Nuseibeh, chief executive of Hala, said the platform had grown from a pilot with a couple of thousand vehicles in 2019.
