Qiddiya Investment Company Appoints Golf Saudi to Run Its Faldo-Designed Golf Course Under Five-Year Deal

Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has appointed Golf Saudi to operate its 18-hole championship golf course under a five-year management agreement, the company said on Thursday.

The course, designed by six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo, will be called The National Golf Club, Qiddiya City. It opens on Friday, October 30, and does not require a membership.

Golf Saudi will run golf operations, events, course management and player development, and connect the club to its national network of facilities and competitions, QIC said. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Clubhouse due in 2028

The course sits beneath the Tuwaiq cliffs in Qiddiya City, about 45 km from Riyadh. It is laid out as three six-hole loops, so players can choose a shorter or full round.

A dedicated clubhouse opens with the course. A new clubhouse, driving range and academy designed by Patterson’s are due to open in 2028, according to TradeArabia.

The club is next to Qiddiya’s National Tennis Centre, which is under construction. The club will also work with the Faldo Series, a junior golf development program.

Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of QIC, said Golf Saudi’s expertise and reach would help increase participation in the sport. Noah Alireza, chief executive officer of Golf Saudi, said the club was part of a broader strategy to build a golf ecosystem across the kingdom that supports visitors, investment and tourism.
