Dubai launched a research complex on Sunday that aims to attract 30,000 researchers and specialists, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said.
The Dubai Future Research Hub, named Nad Zabeel, will offer services to researchers working on future sectors closely linked to human life, Sheikh Mohammed said in a post on his X account, Gulf News reported.
“Nad Zabeel will complete our strategic ecosystem for institutionalizing the creation of the future,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
The hub will join the Dubai Future Foundation, the Museum of the Future and the Dubai Future Academy, he said. A model of the complex displayed at the launch carried the Dubai Future Foundation’s name.
“The challenges facing nations are not caused by the rapid pace of future developments, but by the slow pace of preparing for and thinking about them,” he said.
Sheikh Mohammed did not give a cost, a completion date or the size of the complex.
The launch comes ahead of Dubai Future Week, which Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, announced for November.
