Beyon, the Bahraini telecom and technology group that owns Batelco, will run a third data center entirely on renewable energy once the fifth phase of its solar park is complete, the company said on Sunday.
Phase 5 of the Beyon Solar Park represents an investment of about BD544,500 and is being developed with Almoayyed Solar, according to a statement released at the Gateway Gulf 2026 forum in Manama.

The installation will cover 14,000 square meters with 2,292 solar panels and a total capacity of 1.5 MWp. It is due for completion in the coming months, the company said.
Beyon expects the new phase to generate about 2.5 GWh of electricity a year and cut carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1,585 tonnes annually.
The announcement was made in the presence of Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon Group.
Phase 3, announced at last year’s forum, allowed Beyon’s Tier III certified data center in Hamala to operate fully on renewable energy. Phase 4, completed this year, extended solar power to the customer contact center of Total CX, a Beyon company.
Andrew Kvaalseth, Beyon Group’s Chief Executive Officer, said the expansion of data centers should go hand in hand with a more sustainable approach to powering critical infrastructure.
Mohammed Almoayyed, Chairman of Almoayyed International Group, said the successive phases showed the potential of long-term collaboration on renewable energy infrastructure.
