Dubai Gold Prices remained steady on Wednesday despite renewed tensions between the United States and Iran. Investors continued monitoring regional developments while also watching interest rate expectations and energy prices.
The precious metal showed limited movement in Dubai’s retail market. Traders remained cautious as geopolitical uncertainty supported demand for safe-haven assets. However, expectations of higher interest rates continued limiting stronger gains.
At the opening of trading, 24K gold sold for Dh485.25 per gram. The price slipped by only 25 fils compared with the previous session.
Meanwhile, 22K gold traded at Dh449.25 per gram. In addition, 21K gold reached Dh430.75 per gram. Furthermore, 18K gold sold for Dh369.25 per gram, while 14K gold traded at Dh288 per gram.
Global gold prices also remained under pressure during early trading. Spot gold traded near $4,027.84 per ounce, marking a slight decline of 0.24 percent. At the same time, silver gained 0.58 percent and traded around $56.71 per ounce.
Market participants continued viewing gold as a traditional safe-haven investment. Even so, recent market conditions prevented the metal from making significant gains.
Renewed military activity between the United States and Iran increased uncertainty across financial markets. Earlier hopes for reduced tensions faded after fresh attacks reignited investor concerns.
Even with increased geopolitical risks, analysts noted that gold prices remain well below the record levels reached in January. Current prices sit nearly 25 percent below those earlier highs.
Market experts explained that gold often requires time to recover after reaching major peaks. Therefore, many investors continue waiting for stronger technical signals before increasing their positions.
At the same time, inflation concerns remain an important factor supporting gold prices. Oil markets continued moving higher, adding pressure to inflation expectations worldwide.
WTI crude oil traded near $81.60 per barrel. That level stands almost 15 percent above last month’s price. Rising energy costs have increased concerns about future inflation and central bank policy.
Investors also focused on the latest Federal Reserve policy meeting. Officials are expected to provide updated guidance on interest rates and inflation.
Current market expectations suggest policymakers could keep interest rates unchanged during the meeting. However, investors still expect at least one rate increase before the end of the year.
Higher interest rates generally reduce the appeal of gold because the metal does not generate interest income. Consequently, many traders remain cautious despite ongoing geopolitical risks.
Technical indicators also continue reflecting weak momentum in the gold market. Prices have remained inside a relatively narrow trading range during recent weeks.
Analysts identified support near $4,022 per ounce. If prices fall below that level, gold could test the next support around $3,945 per ounce.
On the upside, resistance remains close to $4,160 per ounce. A strong move above that level could signal improving market sentiment and renewed buying interest.
For now, Dubai Gold Prices continue reflecting a balance between safe-haven demand and concerns over future interest rate decisions. Investors will likely monitor central bank announcements, oil prices, and regional developments before making larger investment decisions. Dubai Gold Prices could remain range-bound until clearer economic signals emerge.
