An International Monetary Fund staff mission began its annual Article IV consultation with Oman on Sunday and will remain in the country until November 8, the Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance are hosting the mission, which follows a preparatory visit from June 7 to June 15, 2026, according to ONA.

Article IV consultations are the IMF’s regular reviews of a member country’s economy and policies.
The IMF team will meet officials from the central bank, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the National Center for Statistics and Information, the Ministry of Labour, the Tax Authority and the Oman Investment Authority.
It will also meet other government bodies, private sector and banking representatives, and civil society groups.
Technical meetings will cover recent macroeconomic developments and the outlook, fiscal and monetary policy, financial sector development and structural reforms, ONA said.
Talks will also review progress toward the targets of Oman Vision 2040, the sultanate’s long-term development plan.
The main discussions will focus on economic diversification, public and private investment, job creation, private sector growth, and resilience to global developments.
