ROX Delivers First 100 ‘Made in the Emirates’ Vehicles From Its Abu Dhabi Factory

ROX has delivered its first 100 vehicles built in the UAE and carrying the “Made in the Emirates” mark, the company said on Friday.

The cars were produced at the company’s AI-driven manufacturing center in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi, known as KEZAD, as part of its Emirati premium edition.

The project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and ROX, Al Bayan reported.

ROX built the Abu Dhabi facility in six months. It includes a manufacturing center, an artificial intelligence lab and a design studio.

Industrial strategy

The project falls under the ministry’s Make it in the Emirates initiative and the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, known as Operation 300bn, which aims to raise industry’s contribution to the economy.

Hassan Jasem Al Nowais, undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, said the first 100 vehicles create an opportunity to attract more investment and localize know-how, especially given challenges in global supply chains.

Mohammed Ali Al Kamali, chief executive of trade and industry at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, said the delivery marked a milestone in the company’s expansion in the emirate.

Jarvis, the founder and chief executive of ROX, said the facility allows the company to build cars locally and serve customers across the region.

He said ROX would keep working with partners to expand manufacturing, develop local capabilities and strengthen supply chains.
