Flydubai Cancels All Flights to Riyadh, Dammam and Abha Through November 1 Amid Houthi Attacks on Saudi Airports

Flydubai has canceled all flights to Abha, Dammam and Riyadh up to and including November 1 because of the ongoing Houthi attacks targeting Saudi airports, the Dubai-based airline said.

The carrier is still flying to six other destinations in Saudi Arabia: Jeddah, Taif, Tabuk, Madinah, Al-Qassim and Hail, Khaleej Times reported on Friday.

A flydubai spokesperson said the airline expects some disruption to its scheduled operations to Saudi Arabia.

“We continue to monitor the situation closely and will update our customers through our official channels regarding any amendments to our flight schedules,” the spokesperson said.

The airline advised customers to check their flight status regularly and keep their contact details up to date.

Missile interceptions

Saudi Arabia intercepted at least two ballistic missiles headed toward Riyadh on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said late on Thursday that debris from two missiles intercepted over Riyadh injured a Saudi citizen and damaged a house and a vehicle. It said the missiles were launched by Yemen’s Houthi group.

The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a cruise missile launched by the Houthis toward the kingdom’s western region overnight.

Other Gulf carriers

Etihad Airways said last week that it had extended cancellations of its Abu Dhabi flights to Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah until November 5.
