ADNOC Greenlights SARB Deep Gas Project to Power 300,000 Homes

ADNOC has approved the Final Investment Decision for the SARB Deep Gas Development within the Ghasha Concession. Importantly, the decision strengthens UAE energy security and supports long-term gas self-sufficiency through the SARB Deep Gas project.

Moreover, the SARB Deep Gas project will deliver up to 200 million standard cubic feet daily before decade’s end. As a result, the output will supply enough energy to power more than 300,000 homes every day.

At the same time, ADNOC plans to deploy advanced technologies and artificial intelligence across the development. Consequently, operators will manage the project remotely from Arzanah Island, improving safety and efficiency.

In addition, ADNOC will leverage existing offshore infrastructure to reduce costs and accelerate development timelines. Therefore, the company expects stronger integration across its offshore gas portfolio.

Musabbeh Al Kaabi, ADNOC Upstream CEO, highlighted the project’s strategic importance for the UAE. He explained that the SARB Deep Gas project unlocks Abu Dhabi’s world-class gas resources and strengthens export reliability.

Furthermore, Al Kaabi noted that ADNOC continues to maximize value through technology, innovation, and operational synergies. As a result, the project supports both domestic demand and international energy partnerships.

Geographically, the SARB Deep Gas project sits 120 kilometers offshore from Abu Dhabi. Specifically, the development includes a new offshore platform and four gas production wells.

Subsequently, these wells will connect to Das Island for upstream gas treatment. There, ADNOC Gas facilities will process the output and integrate it into existing systems.

Meanwhile, the project also supports ADNOC’s In-Country Value program. Accordingly, the initiative will create jobs, empower local talent, and strengthen the national energy supply chain.

Beyond production, the SARB Deep Gas project reinforces the Ghasha Concession’s role in national energy planning. Therefore, the concession remains a key driver of UAE gas self-sufficiency and export growth.

Looking ahead, ADNOC aims to complete the project before the end of the decade. Consequently, the company continues advancing its offshore gas strategy with confidence and discipline.

Ultimately, the SARB Deep Gas project reflects ADNOC’s commitment to innovation, energy security, and sustainable economic growth across the UAE.
