DHCC Expansion Momentum Fuels Dubai Healthcare Growth

Dubai Healthcare City has reported strong growth as its partners expand operations, highlighting DHCC expansion momentum in the process. The Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) confirmed that nearly 27 percent of existing partners increased their footprint last year. Moreover, almost one in three businesses chose to upsize within the district, signaling rising confidence in the healthcare hub.

As the ecosystem grows, the number of active facilities now totals 487. At the same time, the workforce expanded by 30 percent, reaching 12,941 professionals. These figures show that DHCC continues to attract talent and investment across clinical and non-clinical sectors.

Investor interest also strengthened, with new projects rising 26 percent year-on-year. The trend reinforces DHCC’s role in supporting Dubai’s ambition to become a world-class healthcare hub. It also supports the broader Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to diversify the economy and strengthen strategic sectors.

This announcement coincides with DHCC’s participation at the World Health Expo Dubai 2026. There, the district is showcasing its integrated healthcare ecosystem to a global audience. Officials have pointed to rising demand for integrated healthcare destinations worldwide.

Issam Galadari, CEO of DHCA, said the expansion shows strong confidence in the district’s fundamentals. He noted that when nearly one in three partners grows within DHCC, it reflects sustained demand and long-term commitment. He added that the momentum is translating into tangible development across both phases of the project, reinforcing DHCC expansion momentum throughout the district.

In Phase 1, DHCA is pushing forward a Dhs1.3 billion development plan. This plan includes two integrated clusters, each designed to support a different lifestyle need. The first cluster spans 21,110 square metres and introduces a residential-led environment. It will include standard residences, branded units, and co-living spaces. The second cluster spans 15,150 square metres and will form the commercial and healthcare core. It will host medical offices, clinics, corporate spaces, and retail offerings for professionals and patients.

Phase 1 also features anchor projects such as Pixel DHCC, the district’s first LEED Platinum office building. The project offers 13,000 square metres of flexible office space and ground-floor retail. Another major project is Ibn Sina+ DHCC, a purpose-built medical complex. It will connect to the existing Ibn Sina facility via a walkway and house surgical, diagnostic, outpatient, and office spaces.

Meanwhile, Phase 2 is moving ahead at pace, with 58 percent of projects now committed. This represents a total investment of Dhs5.4 billion. As of January 2026, infrastructure delivery across Phase 2 reached up to 80 percent. Key developments include major healthcare facilities and landmark residential masterplans.

As Phase 2 infrastructure nears completion, DHCC expansion momentum remains strong, and DHCC stays focused on enabling investment and advancing medical innovation. It also continues to support Dubai’s vision for a resilient, diversified, and knowledge-based economy.
