Dubai is taking another step toward smarter transportation after Salik announced a new partnership with Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority. Salik Parking will support advanced parking management across three major free zones while improving traffic flow and access for businesses. The agreement also reflects Dubai’s broader strategy to expand digital infrastructure and modern mobility services.
Salik signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority to introduce new access control and parking management systems. The project will cover Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity.
The rollout will include more than 21,000 parking spaces across the three economic zones. As a result, drivers will experience smoother entry and exit without traditional parking barriers.
The company plans to install its barrierless parking technology throughout the designated locations. Consequently, motorists will enjoy faster movement while operators gain better control over parking facilities.
The initiative focuses on reducing traffic congestion around busy commercial districts. In addition, it aims to prevent unauthorized use of reserved parking spaces within the free zones.
Officials believe the technology will improve traffic circulation while making parking operations more efficient. Furthermore, the system will help maximize available parking capacity throughout the business districts.
The agreement also supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which encourages innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable economic growth. Therefore, the partnership aligns with the emirate’s long-term vision for smart urban development.
Salik Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad said the agreement represents another milestone in the company’s growth strategy. He explained that Salik continues expanding beyond toll collection by offering integrated mobility services across Dubai.
He also noted that the project introduces a new smart mobility business segment for the company. Moreover, he said the initiative strengthens Salik’s contribution to building intelligent and connected infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Engineering and Sustainability Chief Officer Muammar Al Katheeri highlighted the importance of digital innovation within Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority. He explained that advanced technology helps deliver faster and more efficient services for companies operating across the free zones.
According to both organizations, technical teams will now evaluate deeper integration between their digital platforms. This work will support unified access standards while creating smoother vehicle movement across the participating locations.
The partnership also seeks to improve operational efficiency as commercial activity continues growing throughout Dubai. At the same time, businesses will benefit from more reliable parking management and streamlined access systems.
Salik currently operates ten toll gates across Dubai under a long-term concession agreement that extends until 2071. However, the company continues expanding its services beyond electronic toll collection.
Earlier this month, Salik introduced digital parking payments at Dubai Harbour’s Harbour West Car Park. Drivers now pay parking charges directly through their Salik accounts without using tickets or cash.
That service officially started on July 13 and forms part of Salik’s ongoing expansion into smart mobility solutions. Consequently, customers receive a more convenient and fully digital parking experience.
Earlier this year, the company also confirmed the introduction of a five percent value-added tax on toll charges and tag activation fees. The collected tax follows UAE regulations and goes to the Federal Tax Authority.
Through this latest agreement, Salik Parking continues strengthening Dubai’s smart transportation network. As the project moves forward, businesses and motorists can expect faster access, improved parking efficiency, and more connected mobility services across the emirate.
