Mobily Explores Telecom Tower Sale in Early Discussions with Tawal

Mobily tower sale discussions have entered an early stage as the Saudi telecommunications company explores a potential transaction with Tawal. The possible deal could reshape the country’s telecom infrastructure market. Meanwhile, both companies continue evaluating the opportunity before making any binding commitments.

Mobily confirmed that preliminary discussions have taken place with Tawal regarding the possible sale of telecom towers. However, the company clarified that negotiations remain at an early stage. It also stated that no binding agreement has been signed.

According to the company, both sides have only completed a confidentiality agreement. Therefore, no memorandum of understanding or final transaction currently exists. Management stressed that discussions may continue depending on future negotiations.

The potential agreement involves thousands of telecom tower sites across Saudi Arabia. If completed, the transaction would represent one of the region’s largest telecom infrastructure deals. In addition, it would strengthen Tawal’s position in the sector.

Tawal operates as Saudi Arabia’s largest telecommunications infrastructure company. The company became part of the Public Investment Fund after a restructuring completed in 2024. Since then, it has continued expanding its infrastructure portfolio.

Industry observers believe a successful agreement could support Tawal’s long-term growth plans. Furthermore, the company may continue preparing for a future public listing if expansion efforts progress as expected.

Reports suggest any formal announcement could arrive later this year if negotiations move forward. Nevertheless, both companies still need to complete financial, legal, and operational reviews before reaching a final decision.

Following its merger with Golden Lattice Investment Company, Tawal significantly expanded its operations. Today, the combined business manages an extensive telecom infrastructure network across multiple markets. Moreover, the company owns assets beyond Saudi Arabia.

Its international portfolio includes telecommunications infrastructure in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia. These overseas investments support the company’s broader strategy to diversify revenue sources while strengthening regional operations.

Mobily tower sale discussions come shortly after the telecommunications operator reported solid financial results. During the first half of 2026, the company recorded steady growth in both earnings and revenue.

Net profit increased by 12 percent compared with the same period last year. Earnings reached SAR1.8 billion during the first six months of 2026. At the same time, revenue climbed 5 percent to SAR9.6 billion.

The company also approved dividend distributions exceeding SAR1 billion between January and June. Those payments reflected management’s confidence in the company’s financial position and future performance.

Abu Dhabi-based telecommunications group e& remains Mobily’s largest strategic shareholder. The company currently owns a 27.99 percent stake in the Saudi operator, supporting its long-term investment in the Kingdom’s telecom sector.

Despite the positive earnings report, Mobily’s share price slipped slightly during the latest trading session. The stock closed 0.7 percent lower at SAR63.45. Additionally, the shares remain nearly 4 percent lower since the beginning of the year.

Investors will closely monitor future developments surrounding the negotiations. Any progress could influence both companies’ growth strategies and Saudi Arabia’s telecommunications infrastructure market.

Mobily tower sale discussions remain preliminary, and no final agreement has been reached. However, the negotiations highlight continued investment activity within Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving telecom sector. If both companies reach an agreement, the transaction could become a significant milestone for the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure expansion.
