Duqm Refinery has reached around 255,000 barrels per day during 2026. The figure represents about 110% of its planned design capacity. The refinery was designed to process 230,000 barrels of crude each day. Its higher output highlights the facility’s growing role in Oman’s energy sector.
The project also represents a major economic partnership between Oman and Kuwait. According to Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Al-Ajmi, the refinery has become an important strategic industrial asset. Its location also gives the facility strong access to international markets. As a result, the refinery can support regional demand while serving customers across several global markets.
Duqm Refinery processes crude oil into several refined products. These products include diesel, jet fuel, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas, petroleum coke, and sulfur. In the first half of 2026, diesel production reached about 115,400 barrels per day. Jet fuel output stood at around 38,500 barrels per day. Naphtha production reached nearly 61,100 barrels per day.
The facility also produced about 800 metric tonnes of LPG each day. Petroleum coke output reached roughly 2,200 metric tonnes daily. Sulfur production stood at around 500 metric tonnes per day. Together, these products support energy markets and industrial demand across multiple regions.
The refinery also plays an important role in Oman’s international energy strategy. Its strategic position supports shipments toward Asia, Africa, and Europe. Meanwhile, the facility generated approximately $7 billion in revenue during 2025. The strong performance adds to its economic importance for both Oman and Kuwait. The refinery continues to focus on efficient operations and reliable production.
At the same time, it follows international standards for occupational health, safety, and environmental performance. These practices support safer operations across the large industrial facility. The refinery also received a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. The recognition highlighted its performance in occupational health, safety, and environmental practices.
The Duqm Refinery partnership continues to connect Oman and Kuwait through a major industrial project. Furthermore, its growing production supports the development of Oman’s refining and petrochemical industries. The facility can also strengthen the country’s position in international energy markets.
Its location and production capacity provide access to major trading routes. As output remains above the original design level, the refinery continues to expand its contribution to the energy sector.
