Saudi Entertainment Centers See Registrations Rise 62% as Family Demand Grows Locally

Entertainment centers are expanding quickly across Saudi Arabia as family demand continues to increase. Active commercial registrations reached 8,462 by mid-2026. The figure represents a rise of nearly 62 percent from 2024. Registrations stood at 5,216 two years earlier. The growth highlights stronger activity across the Kingdom’s leisure and family entertainment market. Furthermore, operators are adding new services to attract different customer groups. These services include games, cafes, childcare, memberships, and family packages.

Ministry of Commerce data shows steady growth during the past two years. Active registrations increased to 7,640 during 2025. The total then reached 8,462 during the first half of 2026. Riyadh recorded the highest number with 3,580 registrations. Makkah followed with 2,295 registrations. The Eastern Province ranked third with 933 registrations. Together, these markets account for a large share of current sector activity. Moreover, growing mall development continues creating space for new entertainment businesses.

Consumer interest also supports the sector’s rapid expansion. Recent national data showed strong participation in cultural and entertainment activities. Around 75.3 percent of Saudi residents visited related venues during 2025. Families increasingly combine shopping with dining and entertainment during leisure trips. Consequently, indoor amusement venues have become popular destinations, especially during weekends. Many facilities now target children while offering services for parents. This approach allows operators to build broader and more flexible customer experiences.

Some venues operate for more than 13 hours each day. Many extend their schedules further during busy weekends. One center supervisor said his facility operates from 10 a.m. until midnight. The venue stays open until 1 a.m. on weekends. Friday usually attracts the highest number of visitors. Prices differ depending on the type of games and services offered. Some game cards start at SR110 per person. Other options reach SR135, depending on the package and activities.

Operators are also expanding beyond traditional physical games. Many facilities now combine physical attractions with electronic gaming options. Some venues also include cafes and promotional offers for families. One sector worker said his center has separate physical and electronic gaming areas. Physical games start at SR169 per person at that facility. Electronic gaming packages begin at SR149. The center mainly targets children between four and nine years old. These different experiences help operators appeal to a wider audience.

Childcare has also become an important service within the sector. Some facilities now provide supervised activities for younger children. Others offer monthly memberships that encourage repeat visits. One center charges SR59 for an hour of access. A two-hour visit costs SR79, while open-time access costs SR89. The center serves children from one to 16 years old. It also provides childcare for children between one and five. Monthly memberships can reach SR550 for older children.

Safety measures have also become part of many entertainment business models. Some venues use identification wristbands for children and accompanying adults. Others connect receipts with children’s information before allowing departures. Staff may require parents or guardians to verify their identity. Younger children may also need an accompanying adult throughout their visit. These measures help operators manage busy venues and improve child safety. Meanwhile, social media continues to play a major role in customer outreach.

Family packages represent another growing area within the market. Some operators combine games with food and beverages. One package costs SR169 and includes 200 game points. It also includes a drink and one pizza. A package for two costs SR269 with more points and refreshments. Larger packages can reach SR499 for four people. Game-only options range from SR199 to SR399. Seasonal promotions also give operators another way to attract customers.

Shopping malls are increasingly becoming complete family destinations. Families can now combine retail trips with restaurants and entertainment activities. This shift creates new opportunities for businesses within major commercial centers. Operators are responding by extending opening hours and expanding their service offerings. Membership programs can also provide more predictable customer demand. At the same time, cafes help attract parents while children enjoy gaming areas.

Entertainment centers are also using digital marketing to compete for visitors. Social media platforms provide a direct channel for promotions and announcements. Some businesses also distribute promotional materials within malls. Seasonal campaigns can increase traffic during holidays and school breaks. Back-to-school offers have become another promotional tool for some venues. Operators also use discounted packages to encourage larger family visits. As competition grows, businesses are developing broader customer engagement strategies.

The sector’s expansion reflects wider changes in Saudi Arabia’s entertainment economy. Rising registrations indicate growing commercial interest in family-focused leisure activities. Meanwhile, operators continue testing new pricing models and service combinations. The addition of childcare and memberships can increase customer retention. Cafes and food packages can also improve the overall value of each visit. As demand develops, more businesses may explore similar integrated entertainment models.

Entertainment centers are becoming more than places focused only on games. Many now combine leisure, food, childcare, memberships, and family services. This wider model supports stronger activity across shopping districts and neighborhoods. Riyadh, Makkah, and the Eastern Province currently lead the registration numbers. However, opportunities remain across other regions as the market expands. The latest figures point to continued growth within Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector.
