Clinique La Prairie Expands Saudi Presence with Amaala Resort and New Longevity Centers

Swiss healthcare group Clinique La Prairie is preparing a major Saudi expansion through its upcoming Amaala resort. The company also plans specialized longevity centers in Riyadh and Jeddah. CEO Simone Gibertoni shared the plans with Al-Eqtisadiah on September 28, 2026. The Amaala project will bring luxury accommodation, medical care, diagnostics, and wellness programs together.

The Clinique La Prairie Amaala resort will open next year on Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast. The development will include 74 rooms and suites. It will also feature 13 branded residential units. Guests will have access to medical services and advanced diagnostic programs. In addition, the resort will provide wellness and longevity treatments.

Clinique La Prairie focuses on preventive healthcare, longevity, and wellness services. The group traces its origins to 1931. Over the years, it has developed programs focused on health optimization and rejuvenation. Its Saudi expansion reflects growing interest in preventive healthcare and longer-term wellness services across the region.

Saudi Arabia’s wellness economy also provides an important market opportunity. Gibertoni said the sector reached about $42 billion in 2024. He cited figures from the Global Wellness Institute. The market recorded annual growth of 12.2 percent between 2019 and 2024. According to the figures he cited, Saudi Arabia recorded the fastest growth among the 25 largest wellness markets.

The company views Saudi Arabia as part of its broader international growth strategy. Meanwhile, the Middle East remains an important market for the group. Gibertoni said several factors support the company’s interest in the Kingdom. These include healthcare transformation and rising interest in longevity services.

The company also sees opportunities through preventive care and personalized health programs. In particular, health data can support earlier intervention and more tailored services. Therefore, Clinique La Prairie expects demand to develop alongside changes in the healthcare sector.

The group has maintained an interest in Amaala for several years. Gibertoni said Clinique La Prairie became one of the early partners connected with the project in 2018. Since then, the company has continued preparing for its presence at the destination.

However, the group has not disclosed its total Saudi investment. It also has not provided revenue targets for the first years of operation. Gibertoni described the commitment as significant and long term. He expects returns to develop as the resort and wider market mature.

The Amaala business model will combine several sources of revenue. Accommodation will form one part of the operation. Medical services and longevity programs will provide additional services. The branded residences will also create another business segment. Furthermore, the company plans to maintain relationships with clients after their resort stays.

The resort will follow an integrated approach rather than a traditional clinic model. It will combine hospitality with medical assessments and supervised longevity programs. Four main areas will support the concept. These include medical care, nutrition, movement, and wellness.

The project will also introduce Clinique La Prairie Residences to the Saudi market. These properties represent the brand’s first residential units available for ownership. Residents will receive access to selected resort facilities and services. They will also have access to medical and prevention programs.

Meanwhile, the company is considering additional locations in Riyadh and Jeddah. These longevity centers would provide services throughout the year. They could also support clients between visits to the Amaala resort. As a result, the centers could create a broader network across Saudi Arabia.

For now, Amaala remains the company’s main Saudi priority. Nevertheless, Clinique La Prairie sees potential for a wider healthcare and hospitality ecosystem. That ecosystem could connect diagnostics, biotechnology, data science, and preventive healthcare.

The company expects its customer base to include regional and international visitors. Clinique La Prairie currently serves clients from more than 80 countries. The group also has established customers across the Middle East and Gulf region.

Some regional clients have historically traveled to Switzerland for the company’s services. The Amaala resort could bring those services closer to customers in the region. At the same time, the Red Sea location could attract international visitors.

The company also expects longevity tourism to support longer stays. Such programs can involve medical assessments, nutrition, movement, and wellness activities. They can also require specialized staff and healthcare expertise. Therefore, the model could support demand for extended luxury stays.

Overall, the Saudi expansion will begin with the Amaala resort next year. The company then sees Riyadh and Jeddah as potential locations for further growth. Through this approach, Clinique La Prairie aims to build a broader presence in Saudi Arabia’s growing wellness market.
