Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open the final bridge of its World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project on Friday, October 30, completing major works on a project that cost more than AED696 million, the Government of Dubai Media Office said on Sunday.
The 1,000-meter, two-lane bridge will carry about 3,000 vehicles an hour from Al Majlis Street toward 2nd December Street.

It will cut the journey between the two streets from six minutes to one minute.
The project includes five bridges with a combined length of 5,000 meters.
Mattar Al Tayer, director general and chairman of the board of executive directors of the RTA, said the project would cut the average delay at the intersection from 12 minutes to 90 seconds. He said it would benefit more than 500,000 residents and tourists.
Al Tayer said the interchange, on Sheikh Zayed Road, the emirate’s main traffic artery, links key road corridors with areas including Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai International Financial Centre.
The RTA is also upgrading Al Mustaqbal Street, a project due for completion in 2027. It includes bridges and tunnels totaling 1,500 meters and will widen the street to four lanes in each direction.
The authority said the Al Mustaqbal Street works would raise the road’s capacity by 33% and cut journey time from 13 minutes to six minutes.
