Fiera Capital Expands Gulf Presence with New Qatar Office Through Qatar Financial Centre Platform

Fiera Capital Qatar expansion marks a new step in the country’s efforts to attract international financial firms. The Canadian asset management company has joined the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) platform and opened a local office in Doha. The move will help Fiera Capital strengthen relationships with investors across Qatar and the wider region. It also supports Qatar’s ambitions to develop its financial services industry and attract global investment.

Fiera Capital manages approximately $115 billion in assets as of June 2026. The company provides investment management services to clients across several international markets. Through its new Qatar presence, the firm can build closer connections with local investors and institutions. Furthermore, the office creates opportunities to explore investment needs and develop regional partnerships.

The QFC Regulatory Authority has granted initial authorization to Fiera Capital’s UK subsidiary. The subsidiary will operate locally as Fiera Capital (UK) Ltd QFC Branch. This authorization represents an important step in establishing the company’s operations in Qatar. However, the initial authorization does not necessarily mean every regulatory requirement has been completed.

QFC Chief Executive Officer Mansoor Rashid Al Khater welcomed the company’s arrival. He said the firm’s decision reflects growing international confidence in Qatar’s financial sector. He also highlighted the addition as a positive development for the country’s asset management industry. Moreover, the company’s presence could help expand the range of financial services available to regional investors.

Klaus Schuster, Fiera Capital’s Chief Executive Officer for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, also welcomed the development. He explained that a local office would bring the company closer to investors in Qatar. In addition, he expressed the firm’s intention to contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030. This national strategy aims to support long-term development across economic and social sectors.

Fiera Capital Qatar expansion also highlights the role of international firms in strengthening Doha’s financial position. By attracting established asset managers, Qatar seeks to broaden its investment ecosystem. These firms can provide additional expertise, investment strategies, and connections to international markets. Consequently, their presence may support greater engagement between local investors and global financial institutions.

The Qatar Financial Centre provides a business platform for companies seeking access to Qatar and nearby markets. It operates an onshore legal and regulatory framework for registered businesses. The centre also offers a tax environment designed to attract international companies. Eligible firms can benefit from full foreign ownership and the ability to repatriate all profits.

The QFC applies a 10% corporate tax rate to locally sourced profits under its framework. These arrangements can appeal to international businesses evaluating regional expansion. Additionally, Doha offers firms a base for building relationships with institutions across the Gulf. The arrival of Fiera Capital adds another international name to Qatar’s financial services community.

Qatar continues to develop its position as a regional centre for finance and investment. Its strategy includes attracting foreign businesses and expanding financial services capabilities. International asset managers can contribute by bringing specialist knowledge and broader investment networks. Fiera Capital Qatar expansion therefore represents a further development in Qatar’s efforts to attract global financial firms and strengthen its investment sector.
