Dubai gold prices moved higher on Wednesday morning, returning close to the levels seen in early July. The latest increase followed renewed strength in global bullion markets despite continued uncertainty across financial markets.
The price of 24K gold reached Dh495.75 per gram, up from Dh492.00 per gram at Tuesday’s market close. The gains reflected stronger international gold prices after several sessions of volatile trading.
Other gold categories also recorded increases. 22K gold traded at Dh459.00 per gram, while 21K gold reached Dh440.00 per gram. Meanwhile, 18K gold climbed to Dh377.25 per gram, and 14K gold stood at Dh294.25 per gram.
Globally, spot gold traded at $4,128.12 per ounce, marking a 1.38% increase during the session. Silver also posted gains, rising 1.35% to $59.59 per ounce.
Market analysts continue to monitor inflation risks following recent geopolitical developments. Investors remain focused on how regional tensions could influence energy markets and central bank policy decisions in the coming months.
Lower Brent crude prices provided some support for gold after recent weakness. At the same time, improving expectations for diplomatic progress helped strengthen investor confidence in the precious metals market.
However, uncertainty persists across the energy sector. Potential disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to raise concerns about global oil supplies. In addition, regional security risks could keep energy prices elevated for longer.
Higher energy costs may increase inflationary pressures worldwide. As a result, investors continue to closely monitor future monetary policy decisions. Any acceleration in inflation could influence interest rate expectations across major economies.
Financial markets currently expect a strong possibility of another interest rate increase before the end of the year. Expectations for an earlier rate hike have also strengthened in recent weeks. Higher borrowing costs generally reduce the appeal of non-yielding assets such as gold.
A stronger US dollar also places additional pressure on bullion prices. Since gold is priced in US dollars, a stronger currency often limits demand from international buyers.
Despite these challenges, analysts believe long-term demand remains robust. Investment activity has improved steadily in recent months. Furthermore, speculative positions in gold have reached their highest levels since the beginning of the year.
Central bank purchases continue to support the market. During the first quarter, official institutions bought more than 240 tonnes of gold. These purchases helped reinforce long-term demand even as exchange-traded fund (ETF) activity softened.
Dubai gold prices continue to attract both investors and retail buyers, reflecting the emirate’s position as one of the world’s leading precious metals markets. Many consumers also monitor daily price movements before making jewellery purchases.
Silver also maintained positive momentum throughout the trading session, trading around 3.5% higher than previous levels. Analysts identified support near $56.20 per ounce, while resistance remained close to $60.50 per ounce.
Looking ahead, Dubai gold prices are expected to remain sensitive to economic data, inflation trends, geopolitical developments, and central bank policies in the coming weeks. Investors will continue monitoring these factors as they shape precious metal prices worldwide.
