Dubai Gold Prices remained stable on Monday morning, with 24K gold trading above Dh500 per gram. The precious metal maintained its position as the Indian festival of Navratri began on Sunday. Meanwhile, jewellery retailers anticipated stronger demand during the nine-day celebration. Global market movements also influenced investor expectations for gold prices.
According to Dubai Jewellery Group figures, 24K gold traded at Dh505.50 per gram on Monday. Meanwhile, 22K gold stood at Dh468, while 21K gold reached Dh448.75 per gram. Additionally, 18K gold traded at Dh384.75 per gram during the morning session. The more affordable 14K category recorded a price of Dh300 per gram.
Navratri celebrations traditionally encourage gold purchases among Indian communities in Dubai and other markets. Many families consider the festival an important occasion for buying jewellery, coins, and gold bars. Furthermore, gold often represents prosperity, financial security, and good fortune during religious celebrations. Consequently, retailers may experience increased customer interest throughout the festive period.
Dubai Gold Prices also reflected relatively stable conditions despite modest declines across international precious metal markets. Spot gold slipped 0.16 percent to approximately $4,188 per ounce during Monday’s trading. Meanwhile, silver declined 0.14 percent, reaching $223.55 per ounce in the reported market figures. However, investors continued monitoring economic developments that could influence precious metal valuations.
Market analysts identified several factors that could determine gold’s direction during the coming days. Simon-Peter Massabni, business development head at XS.com, highlighted the importance of dollar movements and US Treasury yields. According to his assessment, a weaker dollar could create more favorable conditions for gold. Additionally, declining Treasury yields could encourage investors to increase their exposure to precious metals.
A weaker US dollar generally makes gold more affordable for buyers using other currencies. Meanwhile, lower bond yields reduce the potential income investors sacrifice when holding gold. However, renewed dollar strength could limit further gains in international gold markets. Rising Treasury yields could also create additional pressure on precious metal prices.
Investors are now focusing on the upcoming US Consumer Price Index report. The inflation figures could influence expectations surrounding future Federal Reserve interest rate decisions. Furthermore, weaker inflation could reduce concerns about tighter monetary policy. Such developments might support gold by encouraging lower yields and a softer dollar.
Conversely, stronger inflation figures could increase expectations of higher interest rates. As a result, the dollar could strengthen while Treasury yields move upward. These conditions might reduce investor demand for gold and limit potential price increases. Therefore, analysts expect greater market volatility as investors prepare for the inflation announcement.
Gold also faces an important technical level near $4,200 per ounce. A sustained move above that level could strengthen expectations of further recovery. However, changing economic conditions could prevent the metal from maintaining upward momentum. Consequently, traders remain cautious while assessing inflation expectations and broader financial market trends.
Dubai Gold Prices could experience further changes as global economic developments shape investor sentiment. Meanwhile, Navratri celebrations may provide additional support for local jewellery demand. Retailers will likely monitor customer activity alongside international price movements throughout the festival. Overall, gold remains sensitive to inflation expectations, currency fluctuations, and interest rate developments.
