Korea Qatar AI Forum Highlights Artificial Intelligence Role in Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation

Doha, Qatar: Industry leaders and technology experts highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) during the second Korea-Qatar AI Forum in Doha.

The forum focused on cybersecurity, energy efficiency, and digital transformation. Participants discussed how AI can help solve real-world challenges across multiple industries.

Experts said AI-powered tools are becoming essential for protecting critical infrastructure, businesses, and public services. As cyber threats continue to increase, organizations are investing more in intelligent security solutions.

During the second session, South Korean experts presented recent developments in the country’s AI ecosystem. They also explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation with Qatar.

Discussions covered cybersecurity, smart buildings, energy optimization, and advanced digital technologies. Both sides highlighted the benefits of sharing expertise, innovation, and technical knowledge.

Speakers also explained how AI can improve operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption. As a result, many organizations are adopting AI-based solutions to support sustainability goals.

The forum examined ways to expand research partnerships and knowledge exchange. Participants agreed that international cooperation remains important for technological advancement.

In addition, experts emphasized the importance of practical AI applications. They noted that successful digital transformation requires organizations to convert innovative ideas into real-world solutions.

Kihwan Bong, Head of the Middle East and Africa Hub at the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), delivered one of the forum’s key presentations.

He proposed creating a joint AI-enabled cybersecurity response framework between Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) and KISA. The proposal aims to strengthen cyber protection efforts in both countries.

The framework would support faster threat detection and improve incident response capabilities. It would also enhance cooperation in addressing emerging cybersecurity risks.

Moreover, the initiative could encourage information sharing and technical collaboration between the two agencies. Experts believe such cooperation can strengthen digital resilience and cybersecurity readiness.

As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, AI-driven technologies are becoming increasingly important. Therefore, governments and organizations are expanding investments in advanced security systems.

The Korea-Qatar AI Forum reflects the commitment of both countries to innovation, technology, and digital growth. It also highlights their efforts to build stronger partnerships in advanced technology sectors.
