Scale AI, the US artificial intelligence data company, has signed an agreement with Qatar’s United Development Company (UDC) to establish a long-term home at UDC Tower on The Pearl Island in Doha, the two companies said on Wednesday.
The expanded office will cover nearly 2,000 square meters, Scale AI said. Its Doha team has grown to nearly 100 employees since 2025, and close to half of them are technical engineers.

Yasser Salah Al Jaidah, President and CEO of UDC, and Amr Samir, Qatar Country Lead at Scale AI, signed the agreement at UDC’s pavilion at Cityscape Qatar 2026, held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, according to Qatar News Agency.
UDC is the master developer of The Pearl and Gewan islands. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
Government work
The move builds on a five-year partnership between Scale AI, the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), announced at Web Summit Qatar 2025.
Scale AI said its Doha team works with Qatari government bodies across healthcare, justice, education, higher education and tourism.
The company said its ALIF program, launched by MCIT and delivered through the Qatar Digital Academy, has trained nearly 6,000 government employees in AI skills.
“Scale Qatar’s presence at UDC Tower reflects the growing appeal of The Pearl Island as a destination for leading local and international businesses,” Al Jaidah said.
“Our home at The Pearl reflects our commitment to contribute for years to come, working alongside our partners and talent in Qatar to build reliable AI,” Samir said.
The Qatar expansion follows the company’s move earlier this week to open a UAE office at the Dubai International Financial Centre.
