Raffles Red Sea has officially opened on Shura Island, adding a new luxury resort to Saudi Arabia’s growing tourism destination. Red Sea Global, the developer behind the project, announced the opening on October 15, 2026. The resort combines elegant accommodation, personalised hospitality, and experiences inspired by the surrounding coastal environment. Moreover, it supports Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen its position as a leading international tourism destination.
The resort offers 168 accommodation options, including 121 rooms, 14 suites, and 33 private villas. Guests can enjoy views across the lagoon or the Red Sea. Meanwhile, the villas form part of Raffles Residences The Red Sea, a collection of private homes. The residences range from one to four bedrooms and feature spacious indoor and outdoor living areas. Each home also includes a private swimming pool and views of the island’s natural surroundings.
The residences showcase architectural designs by Foster + Partners, with interiors created by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Viel. Together, these features combine contemporary design with the coastal setting. In addition, the accommodation offers guests greater privacy and space during their stay. The development caters to travelers seeking premium hospitality and exclusive residential experiences.
Dining represents another major feature of the resort, with five venues offering regional and international cuisine. Ni’ma serves Eastern Mediterranean dishes, while Siparaja celebrates Singaporean cuisine and Peranakan heritage. Anbara blends French pastry techniques with Arabian influences. Meanwhile, El Nay offers Pan-Arabic refreshments and light meals beside the sea. The Pool Bar & Grill provides a relaxed setting for dining near the water.
Raffles Red Sea also offers extensive wellness facilities for guests seeking relaxation. Its spa includes seven indoor treatment rooms and a vitality pool. Visitors can also access a traditional hammam, beauty services, and grooming facilities. Furthermore, an outdoor lap pool provides another option for exercise and leisure. These amenities complement the resort’s dining and accommodation offerings.
The property occupies a convenient location near Shura Island’s marina and retail district. It also sits within reach of Shura Links golf course. Additionally, guests can reach the resort from Red Sea International Airport with a short drive. Other attractions across the wider destination include Botanica Red Sea and ADRENA, a district dedicated to sports and adventure activities.
Raed Albasseet, Red Sea Global’s Group Chief Environment and Sustainability Officer, described the opening as an important milestone. He highlighted the resort’s role in expanding the company’s hospitality portfolio on Shura Island. He also emphasized the importance of distinctive guest experiences and responsible development. The company aims to create long-term benefits for communities and the natural environment.
Raffles Red Sea joins a wider portfolio of resorts operating across the destination. Red Sea Global already hosts properties associated with InterContinental, SLS, The EDITION, Four Seasons, and Miraval. Furthermore, the developer expects five additional resorts to open in the coming months. These additions will expand the destination’s accommodation choices and hospitality capacity.
The latest opening strengthens Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism development plans. The Red Sea destination combines luxury resorts with coastal landscapes and recreational attractions. Through its regenerative tourism approach, Red Sea Global aims to support long-term environmental and economic value. Consequently, Raffles Red Sea adds another premium offering as the destination continues to develop its international profile.
