The main MSX index climbed 66.8 percent by the end of June. It reached 7,507.9 points during the period.

The total number of traded securities increased by 337.4 percent. Market activity reached around 23.15 million traded securities during the period.

The Financial Sector Index reached 13,085 points by the end of June. Meanwhile, the Industrial Sector Index stood at 9,757 points.
The Services Sector Index reached 3,050 points during the same period. These figures highlight different performance levels across Oman’s major market segments.

At the same time, Omani investors recorded net selling of OMR773,000. The figure remained relatively small compared with foreign investor purchases.
GCC investors followed a different trend during the period. They recorded net selling worth OMR66.983 million.
Arab investors also recorded net selling during the first half. Their net sales reached OMR6.121 million through the end of June.
These figures indicate different investment strategies among market participants. Foreign investors showed stronger buying interest, while several regional groups reduced their positions.
The sharp increase in trading activity also reflects stronger movement across the exchange. Investors continued responding to developments affecting individual sectors and listed companies.
Furthermore, the rise in the main index signals stronger market sentiment. The index gained more than 3,000 points compared with its June 2025 level.
The financial sector remained particularly strong during the reporting period. Its index reached more than 13,000 points by the end of June.
Industrial companies also contributed to the overall market performance. The industrial index reached 9,757 points during the first half.
Meanwhile, the services sector maintained a lower index level. However, its performance still contributed to broader market activity.
The sharp rise in MSX trading value represents one of the most notable changes. Investors exchanged substantially larger amounts of securities than during the previous year.
Higher trading volumes can also improve market liquidity. They may provide investors with more opportunities to enter and exit positions.
At the same time, market performance can change quickly. Investors will continue monitoring corporate results and economic developments during the rest of 2026.
The first-half figures provide a strong start for Oman’s stock market. However, future performance will depend on several domestic and international factors.
Foreign investor activity will remain an important factor for market liquidity. Continued buying could provide additional support for listed securities.
Regional investor flows may also influence market performance. Changes in GCC and Arab investor positions could affect trading patterns.
Overall, MSX trading delivered a substantial increase through June 2026. The market also recorded strong gains across its main index.
The combination of higher trading value and increased transaction volumes signals stronger activity. It also highlights growing movement across Oman’s capital markets.
With the main index up 66.8 percent, the exchange entered the second half strongly. Investors will now watch whether this momentum continues through the remainder of the year.
For Oman’s financial market, the latest figures represent a significant shift. They also underline the growing importance of the Muscat Stock Exchange within the local investment landscape.
